DTN COMMENTS:  A handful of trade has been reported sold in Eastern 
Nebraska with a Major paying $260 live, and a Regional paid $415. A few 
bids are on the table in parts of Kansas, but so far they are being 
passed.

Today's slaughter totaled 108,000 head even with last week, but 13,000 
below a year ago. Cattle futures closed mostly sharply lower on live 
contracts, off 80 to 252. Feeder issues ended the day moderately to 
sharply higher, up 52 to 212. Beef cutouts are expected to close mixed 
with moderate to good box movement.
